VGTC Dissertation Award

Chair: Rita Borgo

Arpit Narechania

The dissertation represents an outstanding body of work at the intersection of information visualisation, visual analytics, and human–computer interaction. The candidate has made highly influential contributions, which advances human–AI collaboration in visual analytics and has already seen adoption in industry. Their thesis is exemplary in its coherence, intellectual clarity, and reflective, forward-looking conclusions, articulating a compelling vision for the field.

VGTC Significant New Researcher Award

Chair: Miriah Meyer

Yong Wang

Dr. Yong Wang has contributed a strong foundation of applied visualization research across numerous application domains, including the timely areas of VIS+AI and quantum computing. His visualization contributions have also had an impact outside of the research community through uptake by package developers and industry professionals.

Lace Padilla

Dr. Lace Padilla has contributed strong, influential work at the intersection of visualization and graphical perception. Her work has pushed our fundamental understanding of the pyscology of visualization, as well as been a driving force in uncertainty visualization.

VGTC Technical Achievement Award

Chair: Anders Ynnerman

Niklas Elmqvist

Niklas Elmquist is recognized for his pivotal work advancing ubiquitous computing technologies within data visualization, particularly as applied to mobile and immersive analytics.

Gerik Scheuermann

Gerik Scheuermann is recognized for his foundational work in vector and tensor field visualization, including advances in topological analysis, Clifford algebra transformations, information theory, feature detection, and higher-order tensor fields.

VGTC Lifetime Achievement Award

Eduard Gröller

Eduard Gröller is recognized for a distinguished career marked by novel contributions to the field of visualization and the development of innovative, impactful applications. His leadership within the community and dedication to mentoring emerging researchers have been instrumental in advancing the discipline.
